Three ghosts on a string. Your child gives each one a face — happy, sleepy, silly — and a name. A grown-up cuts and threads, the garland goes up where everyone can see it, and every evening until Halloween somebody has to say goodnight to all three.

The Halloween Craft Album
The garland’s seven siblings, one page each: a Build-Your-Own Jack-o’-Lantern with a face bank of ten pieces (star eyes today, zigzag grin tomorrow), the Flappy Bat whose fan-folded wings really flap, the Leggy Spider, Candy Corn Count & Feed, the (Friendly) Haunted House with flaps that open on your child’s drawings, the Trick-or-Treat Crown you can actually wear, and Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin for the party. One craft per afternoon is plenty.
The October Path
A winding path with 31 stops hangs where breakfast happens. Each day your child does one two-minute thing — trace the bat, hunt for a red leaf, practice the trick-or-treat voice — and colors that day’s stop. The Grown-Up Card has all 31, one line each: your whole job is reading today’s out loud. By the 31st, the path is full of your child’s own colors — as many stops as you did.

What do I need to make it?
Crayons or markers, a piece of string, and a grown-up with scissors. The ghosts are cut along the solid line, and the two little holes on each ghost are for the string. Hang the garland where you can see it — and out of little hands’ reach.
I’m outside the US. Will it fit my paper?
